Tyler Nelson, assistant park superintendent at Lake McConaughy joins Terry to say McConaughy is currently sitting at 80% capacity and all types of camping currently available. Three of four campgrounds are undergoing face-lifts and high water levels have been making camping tough, but the eight miles of beach do have beautiful, clean white sand. Tyler says the walleye fishing is good year-round and the catfishing has been booming with the high water levels. In fact, it’s the easiest fishing they have, all you need is a pole and a worm. Hotels are nine miles away, and check out ilovelakemac.com for everything Keith County has to offer.
