Romanowski: Get another 10 percent from Von Miller, he’s the best ever

The difference between Bill Romanowski and Von Miller, the former Denver Broncos linebacker said, is he couldn’t get away with giving even as much as 10 percent less.

Speaking with “The Drive” from Radio Row at Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta, Romanowski said he would’ve gotten “slayed on every play” if he gave 10 percent less effort.

“A Von Miller can give 10 percent less and still be probably one of the better defensive sack artists in the game,” Romanowski said.

But, what’s exciting, Romanowski said, is that if the Broncos staff can get 10 percent more from Miller, he could be one of the NFL’s greats.

“Another 10 percent after that, he’s the best ever to play the game,” Romanowski said.

Romanowski’s comments come after new Broncos defensive coordinator Ed Donatell said earlier this month that Miller could “absolutely” be more effective.

“Everyone can improve, and that our motto — no matter what level you’re at,” Donatell said.

And in Vic Fangio’s introductory press conference earlier this month, the Broncos new head coach said, “I think Von Miller can play even better than he’s played in his career.”

Last week, “Pritchard and Cecil” co-host Mike Pritchard said the prospect of Miller turning up his game even a few notches is incredibly exciting, that he would “go down in history as one of the best football players to ever play this game.”

“Just think if he gets better from here. We’re talking about the greatest of all time,” Pritchard said. “And the fact that guy has the potential to reach that, I want to see it happen. I want to see how great Von Miller can get.”

At his current pace, Miller’s already racked up a number of accolades, including seven Pro Bowls in eight seasons, three first-team All-Pro selections, four second-team All-Pro selections, the 2011 NFL Defensive Rookie of the year, a Super Bowl MVP, and the Broncos all-time sacks mark (98 and counting).
