Report: Broncos, CB Fuller agree on one-year, $9.5M deal

Cornerback Kyle Fuller is reportedly reuniting with his former defensive coordinator, now-Denver Broncos head coach Vic Fangio.

Per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the two-time Pro Bowl cornerback has agreed to a one-year, $9.5 million deal with the Broncos after being released by the Chicago Bears this week.

The news comes on the heels of a report Thursday from NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo saying the Broncos would make a “strong push” for Fuller after his release.

In a post to Twitter, 9News Broncos Insider Mike Klis said Fuller had interest from other teams, but the cornerback made it clear he wanted to play for Fangio.

In 2018 — Fangio’s final season with Chicago before taking the Denver head coaching job — Fuller earned First-Team All-Pro honors, pulling in a career-high seven interceptions and 21 passes defensed.

Fuller would earn Pro Bowl honors that year as well, along with the following year in 2019. However, after a down season in 2020, Pro Football Focus ranked Fuller 52nd among all cornerbacks in the NFL last year.
