Nuggets star Nikola Jokic named All-NBA First Team

Just a week removed from becoming the first Denver Nuggets player to win NBA MVP honors, more accolades are headed toward Nikola Jokic.

For the second time in the past three seasons, Jokic was named to the 2020-’21 All-NBA First Team, the NBA announced Tuesday evening.

Jokic, who garnered 99 First Team votes, joins former two-time MVPs Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks and Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors along with Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Dončić and Los Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard.

With 498 total points, Jokic finished second to Antetokounmpo, who had 500 points and was the only player to receiver more than 100 First Team votes.

Jokic played in all 72 of the Nuggets regular season games while averaging career highs in points (26.4), rebounds (10.8) and assists (8.3) and minutes played (34.6).

The 2020-’21 All-NBA Second Team includes Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard, Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid, Phoenix Suns guard Chris Paul, New York Knicks forward Julius Randle and Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James.
