“No change” from Rodgers, QB won’t attend Packers minicamp

With “no change” on the part of Aaron Rodgers, it’s unlikely the Green Bay great will attend Packers mandatory minicamp starting Tuesday

With his heels still dug in, it looks as if Aaron Rodgers will not participate in the Green Bay Packers mandatory minicamp, which starts on Tuesday.

Per NFL Network reporter Tom Pelissero, sources say there has been “no change” in Rodgers’ thinking regarding the Packers and, barring any developments, he won’t be around for mandatory minicamp.

So the expectation, barring any developments overnight, is the NFL MVP won’t be reporting for minicamp.

ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter also reports Rodgers is “not expected to attend Green Bay’s mandatory minicamp,” and the team could opt to fine him $93,085 for his absences or make it an excused absence and waive the fine.

The latest update in the offseason saga between the Packers and Rodgers comes after Green Bay president and CEO Mark Murphy wrote on Saturday that the situation has “divided our fan base.”

“As I wrote here last month, we remain committed to resolving things with Aaron and want him to be our quarterback in 2021 and beyond,” Murphy said in his monthly column for Packers.com. “We are working to resolve the situation and realize that the less both sides say publicly, the better.”
