Kareem Jackson among those upset with 17-game slate

In a post to Twitter, Broncos safety Kareem Jackson expressed his disagreement with the addition of one game to the NFL schedule

At least one Denver Broncos player is unimpressed with the NFL’s recently announced 17-game schedule.

On Tuesday, the league announced an “enhanced season structure” that, beginning in 2021, will feature 17 regular season games and three preseason games.

“This is a monumental moment in NFL history,” NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement released Tuesday afternoon.

But as expected with how narrowly the collective bargaining agreement between the league and the NFL Players Association passed last spring, the news was not met with a lot of enthusiasm from players — including Broncos safety Kareem Jackson.

Former Denver and current Houston Texans running back Phillip Lindsay also chimed in on the matter in a reply to Jackson’s tweet Monday.

And if things go as they did last March, when the CBA passed, fans can expect to hear more current and former players speaking out against the new 17-game season.
