Empower Field set for full capacity come Broncos season

Broncos Country will be out in full force this fall, as Empower Field at Mile High has been cleared for full capacity games, the team announced Wednesday.

The announcement comes after the Denver Department of Public Health and Environment announced large outdoor events and venues — including Empower Field, Coors Field and Red Rocks — no longer need approval to increase capacity or alter distancing and mask requirements.

Per 9News Broncos Insider Mike Klis, the Broncos informed ticket holders in March that the lifting of capacity restrictions was to be expected, and now it’s official.

Indoor events larger than 2,000 people per room will still require prior approval from the DDPHE, including venues like Ball Arena.

Last week, the home of the Colorado Avalanche and Denver Nuggets was approved to increase capacity to 10,500 fans — 57.3% of overall venue capacity — for both teams upcoming playoff series.
