Eli, Peyton Manning to host alternative MNF broadcasts

Peyton Manning is heading to “Monday Night Football” after all … sort of … and he’s bringing his brother, Eli, with him.

The Mannings will participate in an alternate telecast to the ESPN flagship broadcast for 10 games in each of the next three NFL seasons, the company announced Monday.

The “Monday Night Football MegaCast” is produced in conjunction with Omaha Productions, Peyton Manning’s production company, and will debut during the first three weeks of the 2021 season.

Peyton and Eli will be live from a remote location and will be joined by current and former players, along with celebrities.

The new program will air on ESPN2 and could potentially be distributed across Disney’s properties, including ESPN+.

“This partnership with ESPN and The Walt Disney Company reflects an ongoing, shared commitment to offering fans fun, innovative content,” Peyton Manning said in a statement. “ESPN+ has been a terrific partner for Omaha Productions as we built out ‘The Places’ franchise, and we’re excited to co-create a new ‘MegaCast’ format that will have something for everyone.”

Steve Levy, Brian Griese, Louis Riddick, Lisa Salters and John Parry will remain on the flagship “Monday Night Football” broadcast for a second consecutive season.

“Offering multiple ‘Monday Night Football’ viewing options for the next three seasons continues our innovation efforts and provides additional value for our fans,” said Jimmy Pitaro, chairman of ESPN and Sports Content, in a statement. “Peyton and Eli will bring a different approach, delving into conversation about broader, big-picture topics while also honing in on the game, much like fans do when watching with their family and friends.”
