Colin Hanks named his dog ‘Earl Boykins’ and, yes, it’s adorable

Right about now, the world could use a little bit more of Colin Hanks and, more specifically, his adorable pooch “Earl Boykins.”

A venerable prince of American pop culture, Hanks took to social media this weekend to spread some cheer with a goofy, tongue-flapping photo of his (what appears to be) French bulldog, named, of course, after Denver Nuggets legend and friend of Sports Radio 104.3 The Fan, Earl Boykins.

This is my dog Earl Boykins. He always makes me smile. Hope this picture of him makes you smile. That’s all really. Feels like we can all use a smile right now. So I figure we all could use Earl Boykins right about now. So there ya go. https://t.co/KVuYYIMc7g pic.twitter.com/Y6FtzBn8lQ

And through the joys of the internet — a big hat-tip to 104.3 The Fan Twitter follower Brandon and “The Drive” co-host DMac — we know that Boykins himself has learned of the photo and canine counterpart.

Lol I can officially report the REAL Earl Boykins DOES know about this and thinks it’s hysterical. Hope your folks are doing ok.

Truly, the world is unworthy of being in the presence of the Hanks clan — Tom, Rita Wilson, Colin, you name it.
