Denver Broncos quarterback Paxton Lynch played just one series in Saturday’s 20-17 win over the Green Bay Packers, connecting on just one pass for 9 yards on two attempts.
It appears that will be the last time Lynch hits the field this preseason, as NFL Network reporter James Palmer reports the second-year gunslinger suffered a sprained shoulder on the drive.
Keep an eye on what Broncos do at QB before the season. I’m told Paxton Lynch will be out a few weeks because of right shoulder sprain

After the game, head coach Vance Joseph said x-rays on Lynch’s shoulder came back negative but he’d undergo an MRI on Sunday to determine any further damage.
Joseph also indicated Lynch’s injury was believed to be a minor and the quarterback depth would not change, though if circumstance changed the team would evaluate it going forward.
“Moving forward if it’s something different we can discuss that. Right now, nothing’s changed,” Joseph said. “Trevor’s one and Paxton’s two.”
Palmer also reported, aside from missing Thursday’s preseason finale against the Arizona Cardinals, Lynch could be out for a few weeks into the regular season.
Paxton Lynch will miss this Thursday’s game and then a few weeks I’m told. Rest and recovery is really what is needed.

Joseph said third-team quarterback Kyle Sloter would take the whole game on Thursday should Lynch not be able to go, but there’s been no indication on what the play may be going into the season.
