Broncos bust Paxton Lynch headed to the CFL

One of the biggest busts in Denver Broncos history, Paxton Lynch, is taking his talents north of the border.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced Monday afternoon that they have signed the former first-round quarterback with a “cannon for an arm.”

The Broncos traded up in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft to select Lynch with the 26th-overall pick.

However, unlike most first-round picks, Lynch played in just five total games (four starts) for the Broncos, garnering a 1-3 record and throwing for 792 yards on 79 completions with four touchdowns and four interceptions.

After his release by Denver in September 2018, Lynch spent the entire season as a free agent. The following offseason, he did catch on with the Seattle Seahawks but was released during the final roster cuts.

Lynch signed to the Pittsburgh Steelers practice squad and was activated in October 2019 after an injury to Mason Rudolph. He was released the following September during final roster cuts.
