Guest: Dr. Peter Buttrick, local Denver AHA board member and head of cardiology at the University of Colorado, School of Medicine, Anschutz Medical Campus February is American Heart Month and is the number 1 killer of Americans.  The symptoms are different for men and women when it comes to having a heart attack or pain in the chest.  It is also the leading cause of death in women.  Some of the signs and symptoms are chest discomfort. Most heart attacks involve discomfort in the center of the chest that lasts more than a few minutes – or it may go away and then return. It can feel like uncomfortable pressure, squeezing, fullness or pain.  During COVID people have been afraid to go to the hospital if they were having chest pain.  They are learning that COVID does affect the heart, about 25-35% of people do have acute heart damage.  Don’t Die of Doubt, is the American Heart Association’s current complain.  If something is not feeling right, go and get it checked out.      https://www.heart.org/
