Guest: Denise Maes ACLU Colorado Public Policy Director In Colorado, drug possession accounts for 1 of 7 persons  sentenced to prison. It ranks Colorado 4th in the nation incarcerating latinx persons and 9th incarcerating African Americans. ‘Smart Justice” is the initiative by the American Civil Liberties Union to reduce the number of persons incarcerated for  drug offenses. Their study indicates cutting the incarceration rate on drug charges by 50% could lead to a savings to the state of $675 million by 2025. https://www.aclu.org/
