A Boulder native now based in Denver, Shap has worked for the Denver Post, covering everything from the Rockies and Rapids to breaking news.

Jake has spent over a decade in Colorado media, beginning in high school covering prep sports. Reporting for the Associated Press, the Denver Post, from being on the Colorado Rockies beat to editing the premier Colorado Rapids blog, Burgundy Wave, Shap has gotten around town. When not writing, Jake has also been a podcast host, radio voice and play-by-play announcer, VP of Media for the Boulder Collegians and a board member for North Boulder Little League. From freelance hustling to newsroom leadership, Jake has covered Colorado’s top sports stories with unmatched depth.
