Opening Day Has Arrived: Schlereth & Evans

Schlereth & Evans – 4/8/16 – Mark and Mike do Friday’s show live from Blake Street Tavern in Downtown Denver to get ready for the Rockies Opening Day at Coors Field. Along with the Opening Day chatter the guys also discuss the current Broncos QB news including the zero interest in Manziel by Coach Kubiak as well as Memphis QB Paxton Lynch visiting Dove Valley this week.

Hour One of Schlereth & Evans begins with Mark and Mike joining us from the Blake Street Tavern in Downtown Denver where Mark shares a very interesting story from his past to get Friday morning started.

The Morning Brew took place next where the gents chatted the latest on the Broncos and their lack of interest in Johnny Manziel, Peyton Manning reportedly being offered Phil Simms’ job at CBS, DU’s heartbreaking loss in the Frozen Four and an update from the first round of the Masters including Ernie Els’ meltdown.

The first hour closed with the fellas talking about some new changes fans will experience at Coors Field this season including the outfield fences being raised by 8 feet.

Hour two kicked off with Stink “Clearing the Air” about his thoughts on QB Johnny Manziel possibly coming to Denver and how he believes Johnny Football is simply not worth the trouble.

4 Down Territory commenced next as the guys talked more Manziel/Broncos, the new long snapper signed by Denver, Memphis QB Paxton Lynch visiting the Broncos this week and more chatter on the report that Peyton has been offered Phil Simms’ job at CBS.

Hour two wrapped up with Root Sports Rockies analyst and former major-leaguer Cory Sullivan joining the show to discuss all things Rockies and Opening Day including his impressions on Trevor Story’s incredible start to the season, the raised fences at Coors Field and what it’s like to pitch at altitude here in Denver. The third and final hour of Friday’s show launched with the guys being joined by NFL Insider Chad Brown to discuss the latest pertaining to the Denver Broncos including his thoughts on Manziel in Denver, other possible quarterback options for the team and what he thinks the Broncos may do before draft day arrives. The second portion of the third hour saw the guys being accompanied by Rockies Manager Walt Weiss live from Coors Field where they chit-chatted the excitement of Opening Day, Trevor Story’s astounding beginning to the season, the strength of the outfield this season and how to avoid falling off after April, as has happened the previous few seasons.
