4PM – D-Mac leads off the second hour by bringing up the idea that teams picking high in the second round could be a threat to move in front of the Broncos to take Paxton Lynch. They talk about a scenario in which the Broncos are able to acquire Colin Kaepernick, and Big Al believes that the Broncos would still have an open competition for the starting QB position. They talk about the signing of Jared Crick and if this signing will be enough to make up for the loss of Malik Jackson. They talk about Mark Sanchez’s comments on the Kaepernick situation, saying that he has the right mentality going into the season. They talk about Jared Crick working with three of his former coaches, and discuss how terminology is huge when it comes to learning a playbook. They guys are joined by Jared Crick and they ask him if it was frustrating to have been in free agency for as long as he was. They ask if the thought ever crossed his mind that his playing style in the Texans’ system was hurting his chances to make big money. They talk about why he decided to come to Denver. 5PM – Joined by Chad Brown, the guys begin the final hour of the show talking about the fairness of Jared Crick’s contract in relation to Malik Jackson’s. Big Al believes that the signing is a bit of a steal for the Broncos. Chad Brown talks about how Crick’s job in Huston was to cover for J.J. Watt, and how his role in Denver will likely be similar. Big Al talks about how a player like Watt make the players around them unhappy with their roles on the team. D-Mac asks if Paxton Lynch is worth trading up for, given that he had an excellent pro-day and many teams have shown interest in the QB out of Memphis. They talk about the chances of the Broncos missing the playoffs. Big Al thinks that it doesn’t look good for the Broncos while D-Mac thinks that nothing drastically negative has happened to the team this off-season. Chad Brown thinks that trading up for Paxton Lynch makes more sense than trading for Colin Kaepernick. The guys close the show discussing Trevor Story hitting his fourth home run and pondering if this could be the beginning of something special for the Rockies.
