Former Denver Broncos defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers helped de-escalate a scary situation at the Titans facility last week.

According to NFL insider Aaron Wilson, Tennessee defensive tackle Jordan Elliott was in an argument with Titans offensive tackle JC Latham during practice.

Elliott was told to leave the field and stormed off in a heated manner. Wilson reports that’s when things went to a whole new level, with Franklin-Myers stepping in.

“Elliott went to his car in the players’ parking area to retrieve his gun, presumably to confront Latham with the entire sequence captured by security cameras, per sources. The peacemaker that talked Elliott down, per sources: Titans veteran defensive lineman Franklin-Myers,” Wilson wrote on X.

Confrontations are going to happen on the practice field — these players don’t make the NFL without being competitors. But the fact it reached the point of Elliott trying to get a gun before Franklin-Myers intervened is downright terrifying.

“This was so crazy,” an NFL source told Wilson. “Jordan has been having a lot of problems away from the building and obviously he brought it to work with him. There was no reason for him to go off like that. Everyone thought that was wild. To overreact like that is absolutely crazy. We’re just glad that no one got hurt and it’s over.”

Elliott has since been released by the Titans and hopefully can get the help he needs.

In the meantime, Franklin-Myers might have prevented a tragedy — which was a heroic thing do.

The former Broncos standout signed a contract in Tennessee worth up to $63 million last spring after playing the previous two seasons in Denver.
