Bo Nix’s TD caps improbable Broncos comeback against Rams

On two separate occasions in the fourth quarter, the Denver Broncos had a win probability under 20% as they climbed out of a 16-0 hole against the Super Bowl favorite Los Angeles Rams.

An incredible pick six by Talanoa Hufanga gave the Broncos their first lead of the game at 23-19 with less than five minutes to play.

But a quick drive by the Rams including two long receptions by Konata Mumpfield answered right back putting the Broncos down three with three minutes and change to go. After a quick penalty backed the Broncos up, Pat Bryant broke free to get Denver to midfield. Then a combination of favorable flags and conservative play calls ate the clock and put the Broncos in a spot of needing a field goal to tie or a touchdown to win it. Down on the goal line, the Broncos got their lead in the form of Bo Nix punch in, giving the home squad a 30-26 lead.

The defense survived the Rams 47-second last gasp as they got down to the Broncos 14 but their end zone shot failed, picked by Hufanga again. The Broncos improved to 2-1, despite having just a 5.5% chance to win it just after halftime.
