Rockies get everyone in Cincinnati free pizza

Late in the Colorado Rockies loss to the Cincinnati Reds there was a viral moment where the boys in purple got everyone in the ballpark free pizza.

Here’s how it happened. This season, the Reds have teamed up with LaRosa’s Pizzeria for a “Strikeout for Slices” promotion. Whenever Cincinnati pitchers combine for at least 11 strikeouts in a single game, every Reds fan at the ballpark scores a free pie.

It got very dramatic on Tuesday in the ninth inning when Reds reliever Brock Burke had a strikeout called on Edouard Julien thanks to an ABS challenge. Fans were on the edge of their seats during the review of what ended up being the 11th strikeout.

“The crowd is ready to burst,” Reds broadcaster John Sadak said. “That’s a strike! Pizza for everybody!”

The promo for Reds fans is for a free small, one-topping pizza, which must be redeemed within seven days of the qualifying game. That just might be better than “taco’s.”

The Reds performance on Tuesday was the second time this season Reds fans have gotten a free pizza. Though, more could be coming this year with the team currently leading the NL Central. In fact, the Rockies have struck out 11 or more times in a third of their games in 2026, so the Reds could be scoring their fans pizza again later this series.
