Jim Nantz says Broncos QB Bo Nix looked ‘very healthy’ at the Masters

Denver Broncos QB Bo Nix has had an eventful few months.

He underwent ankle surgery after a devastating fracture against the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs.

Nix also became a father and there was a report that he is “further along” than normal in his offseason conditioning.

Basically, everything is coming up aces for Nix since the broken ankle heard ’round the NFL world that caused him to miss the AFC Title Game.

And that continued on Tuesday when Jim Nantz of CBS Sports went on with Pat McAfee to talk about the Masters, a tournament that Nantz just called like he does every year.

Nix’s name came up as apparently he was at Augusta National enjoying the festivities with an unlikely companion.

“I ran into Bo Nix who looked very healthy here,” Nantz said. “He was walking around it was fascinating, Bo and Drake (Maye) with the whole Augusta experience, and together.”

Of course, Nix and Maye would’ve squared off in the AFC Championship if Nix had been healthy. Instead, Maye’s Patriots got the best of the Broncos in a frustrating 10-7 loss.

Regardless, it’s very encouraging that Bo Nix was able to travel to the Masters and walk around on his ankle. As Nantz mentioned, it’s full of hills and steep slopes and grades and it sounds like Nix had no problem.

This is consistent with what the Broncos, including CEO and owner Greg Penner have been saying. It’s also great to hear it from a respected legend like Nantz.

There’s seemingly zero question that when the Broncos begin offseason work early next month that Bo Nix will be 100 percent ready to go.
