Nuggets and Avs to have viewing area outside Ball Arena for playoff home games

The Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche both hope to go on deep playoff runs.

And it’ll be a party inside Ball Arena every single time they play.

But for home playoff games, the party will continue outside the arena as well. That news was announced on Monday afternoon by both teams.

“Ball Arena will close Chopper Circle between 9th Street and 11th Street during all Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche home playoff games to make room for expanded fan zones and a live game broadcast viewing area,” KSE said in a press release.

The festivities sound fun, including “live game broadcasts on a 20-foot video board, plus DJs, food trucks, beer and hard seltzer carts, giveaways, mascot and dance team appearances, partner activations, and the chance to cheer on your favorite teams in the company of Nuggets Nation and Avs Faithful.”

And if fans get priced out of tickets to be inside at the games, this is a solid option, especially with it being free for at least the first-round and second-round of the NBA and NHL playoffs.

“General Admission access is free for Round 1 and Round 2, while space allows, but does require a digital pass for entry. Guests with game tickets will need separate passes for Base Camp 5280 or Avs Alley. Game tickets are not required to get a pass, as Base Camp 5280 and Avs Alley are open to all for the entirety of the game,” KSE said.

To look for a pass, you can follow this link for the Avalanche, with the Nuggets ones still to come. They’ll start on Saturday against the Minnesota Timberwolves, with the Avs almost assuredly starting Sunday with an opponent to be determined.
