All eight Avalanche players score at least one goal in the Olympics

Eight members of the Colorado Avalanche accomplished something remarkable at the Olympics.

With both Devon Toews and Cale Makar finding the back of the net for Team Canada on Sunday, all eight Colorado representatives in Italy have scored at least one goal.

Toews, Makar and MacKinnon have registered tallies for Team Canada. The same goes for Artturi Lehkonen and Joel Kiviranta with Team Finland. Gabriel Landeskog scored for Team Sweden, Martin Necas for Team Czechia and Brock Nelson for Team USA as well.

The best team in the NHL has brought their talents to Italy. And much like they do in North America, the Avalanche are the talk of the tournament.

Canada looks like a wagon, led by MacKinnon and Makar and cruising over Team France to finish 3-0 in group play. The rest of the bracket still has to shake out, but an elimination round will help set the quarterfinals which take place on Wednesday.

After that, it’ll be the semifinals on Friday followed by the bronze medal game on Saturday and the gold medal game dropping the puck early next Sunday morning.

At least one member of the Avalanche, if not multiple, will almost assuredly come home with gold. And regardless of which team that is, all eight players can say they scored at least once in the Olympics.

That’s really cool and the type of memory that will last a lifetime. Just like winning a Stanley Cup together in a few months would be when the whole team is once again wearing Colorado sweaters.
