Bo Nix is still being wildly undervalued by the national media

Denver Broncos fans believe in QB Bo Nix.

The national media?

Not so much.

Nix is still being wildly undervalued as the NFL offseason is under way, despite leading the Broncos to a 14-3 regular season record and the No. 1 seed in the AFC.

He was magnificent as Denver took down Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills 33-30 in the divisional round of the playoffs. Nix broke his ankle and couldn’t play in the AFC Championship against the New England Patriots, a 10-7 Denver loss.

But even with all that on his resume, two different lists have come out this week that seem disrespectful to Nix.

First, NFL.com’s Nick Shook ranked all 63 quarterbacks who started at least one game in 2025. Bo Nix came in 18th on the list despite being eighth in passing yards with nearly 4,000 and tied for ninth in touchdowns tossed with 25. Oh yeah, he also helped lead the Broncos to 14 wins, tied for most in the NFL.

On Shook’s list Nix is behind the likes of Dak Prescott (third), Justin Herbert (fifth), Joe Burrow (10th), Daniel Jones (12th) and Aaron Rodgers (16th).

For example, Burrow’s a great QB, but he played in only eight games last season. How in the world can Nix be ranked behind him and 17 others? It feels strange, like no matter what Nix does, people are always going to think of him as the sixth QB taken in the 2024 NFL Draft.

And speaking of that, ESPN’s Mina Kimes re-ranked that draft class and still has Nix at fourth behind Drake Maye, Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels.

“After that, I’m gonna go Bo Nix, he’s obviously had a lot of success in the league already,” Kimes says of Nix being fourth on her list.

A lot of success is putting it mildly. Nix tied Russell Wilson for the most wins ever by an NFL QB through their first two seasons. He helped the Broncos win 24 games, going 10-7 as a rookie and 14-3 last year.

And yet, he’s still behind Maye, Williams and Daniels. The Commanders QB had a great rookie year, but was hurt a lot this past season and Washington went 5-12. Come on, in no world does he belong ahead of Nix.

Regardless, it appears like leading the Broncos to the AFC Title Game wasn’t enough for Bo Nix to earn his due respect. He’ll just have to hoist the Lombardi Trophy in 366 days to finally change some minds.
