Bo Nix clarifies what Sean Payton said about his ankle injury
Broncos QB Bo Nix can normally be pretty vanilla, but this felt like a direct response to head coach Sean Payton after his comments on Tuesday

Denver Broncos QB Bo Nix and head coach Sean Payton aren’t on the same page.
At least, not when it comes to Nix’s fractured ankle.
On Tuesday, Payton said Nix was “predisposed” to an inevitable ankle fracture. Unfortunately, it happened at the worst possible time. Nix broke his ankle in OT against the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs. He’d miss the AFC Title Game after surgery, a 10-7 Broncos loss, and their magical season is now over.
But Bo Nix stood up for himself a bit on Wednesday, meeting with reporters virtually for the first time since the injury and surgery.
#Broncos QB Bo Nix said there was "nothing predisposed" in his ankle.
"That might've gotten confused."
Interesting. That would seem to directly contradict what Sean Payton said.

It’s shows a little bit of communication gap between Bo Nix and his head coach. That’s not exactly encouraging with the franchise being on the doorstep of a parade and a championship window just opening.
Nix can normally be pretty vanilla, but this felt like a direct response to Payton.
Regardless, the two very important figures in the Broncos organization will have months to get back on track. Right now, there’s a disconnect.
Denver won’t play a meaningful football game until September, so it’s not the end of the world. Still, Bo Nix subtly fired back at his head coach.
It’s a situation to watch moving forward.
