Gabriel Landeskog had great answer on scoring first regular season goal in 1,347 days

Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog did something on Tuesday night he hadn’t done in a long time.

He scored a regular season goal in an NHL game for the first time in 1,347 days.

Landeskog, who battled through multiple knee surgeries to finally return in the playoffs last year, has had a bit of bad luck. Two goals have been taken off the board so far this season, but last night there was no doubt.

Gabriel Landeskog had finally found the back of the net once again.

The Avalanche beat the Ducks 4-1 and now have 27 points, which is by far the most in the NHL. Colorado improved its record to 11-1-5 and is steamrolling early, beating an Anaheim team that had been one of the hottest in the league.

And after the contest, Gabriel Landeskog gave some great answers about finally scoring once again in the regular season.

A lot of times guys won’t admit it, but you can tell there was some real relief from Landeskog. It had been weighing on him, especially with the couple of unfortunate breaks and goals being reversed by replay review, so this was big.

By now, certainly his son has gotten the good news that dad scored. That’ll make for one happy kid, as all Avalanche fans are for Gabriel Landeskog after the journey he’s been through.
