Broncos wide out Jerry Jeudy fined for making contact with official

Dec 16, 2022, 10:33 AM | Updated: 11:03 am

Denver Broncos wide receiver Jerry Jeudy probably should have been booted from last Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The third-year player out of Alabama took his helmet off and bumped a lines judge during a tirade in the first half of the game. He later said he was upset about what he thought should have been a holding call on the defense.

Somehow Jeudy didn’t get kicked out of the game, and it ended up being the best game of his career thus far. He caught three touchdown passes, as the Broncos stormed back before ultimately losing, 34-28.

And luckily for the Broncos, Jeudy will be fine to play on Sunday, as reports came out earlier this week saying he would not face a suspension. But the piper is due for Jeudy and he’ll face a hefty fine. According to 104.3 The Fan contributor and ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Jeudy has been fined $23,030 for the incident. That’s about 20% of the $117,128 Jeudy makes per game.

But Jeudy was actually fined another $13,261 according to the NFL Network for removing his helmet. So that’s a total of $36,281, or 31% of his gamecheck. Mike Klis reports Jeudy will appeal the fine.
