Oddsmakers say Broncos will snap losing streak and beat Cardinals

Dec 13, 2022, 1:47 PM

The Broncos haven’t won since October but the experts say that Denver will snap the skid in a possible battle of the backups against the Arizona Cardinals.

The Broncos are coming off a thrilling 34-28 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, while the Cardinals lost devastatingly to the New England Patriots. Not only did the home loss clinch a losing season, but Arizona lost their star quarterback Kyler Murray a few snaps into the contest.

Denver’s league-worst offense at 14.9 points per game finally broke out last week, but began to falter again when led by Brett Rypien took over. Rypien could be a go again with Russell Wilson suffering from a concussion. Meanwhile, Arizona was no better with their backup Colt McCoy playing much of their last game on Monday night.

Oddsmakers currently predict that the Broncos will win this game by about a field goal. Prognosticators expect a very low-scoring showdown, with a total of 36.5 points.

That means folks in Vegas think the Broncos will win about around the score of 20-17.

Neither team has much to play for but unlike Denver, Arizona does control their first-round draft pick.

This will be the 11th matchup between these four corner state foes. The Broncos are 9-1-1 all-time against the Cardinals, dating back to their time in St. Louis. The Broncos won 45-10 in the teams’ last matchup in 2018.

The Broncos are on the road on Christmas day the following week against the Rams.
