The Broncos deserved some good injury news.

For a team that’s as beat up as Denver is, it’s about time something went their way. And it appears that’s the case for wide receiver Jerry Jeudy, who left Sunday’s game against the Titans after just one offensive snap.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport is reporting that it’s not an achilles injury for Jeudy, but simply a strained muscle in the back of his ankle. Rapoport went on to add his understanding is not only is the injury not “catastrophic,” it’s not even serious. You can watch the video below for his explanation.

That’s huge for Denver, as they already lost wide receiver Tim Patrick for the season in training camp and KJ Hamler has battled various ailments throughout the year. QB Russell Wilson needs weapons to thrive, and they had been dropping like flies. After the first snap against the Titans, he didn’t have Patrick, Hamler or Jeudy at his disposal. That was supposed to be three of his top four targets entering the season.

Rapoport doesn’t know what Jeudy’s status is for the Raiders game on Sunday, so we’ll have to watch it this week. The fact him playing is even a possibility is a good sign.

Jeudy’s been better the last several weeks, appearing to have turned a corner. He’s got (potentially) eight games left this year to keep building that chemistry with Wilson. The two could be working together for a long time.
