104.3 The Fan adds Broncos legend Derek Wolfe to “The Drive”

Oct 4, 2022, 6:37 AM

DENVER – Bonneville Denver has entered an agreement with Derek Wolfe to join 104.3 The Fan (KKFN-FM), effective immediately. Wolfe will team with Darren “DMac” McKee on the station’s iconic afternoon show, now titled: “The Drive with Derek Wolfe and DMac.”

Wolfe announced his retirement from the NFL on July 29th, signing a one-day contract to retire as a member of the Denver Broncos. The defensive lineman was the Broncos top draft pick in 2012 and spent eight seasons with the team, starting 108 regular season games and registering 33 sacks. Wolfe is best known for his key role on the Broncos’ Super Bowl 50 championship defense, where he registered sacks on Ben Roethlisberger, Tom Brady and Cam Newton during the postseason.

“To the listeners in Denver, ‘The Fan Wolfe-pack,’ I am so insanely pumped to talk with you every afternoon on The Fan. We had a special connection when I was playing for the Broncos that’s only going to grow stronger every day on The Drive,” said Wolfe. “DMac and I are going to fight sometimes, maybe we’ll fight a lot of the time, but we’ll always be working together to entertain you. I’ve always kept it 100 with you, and that’s not going to change one bit.”

“We’re ecstatic that Derek is joining The Fan to entertain listeners every afternoon on The Drive,” said Bonneville Denver SVP/market manager Katie Reid. “Audiences have always related to engaging personalities, and Derek is an incredibly engaging and genuine personality, who joins us with an already established credibility with our audience. Listening to Derek and DMac go at it every afternoon is going to be entertaining and a whole lot of fun.”

“Derek is one of the most popular players in Broncos history, with the iconic image of his sack celebration in Super Bowl 50 forever etched in Denver sports lore,” said The Fan program director Raj Sharan. “What’s so exciting about adding Derek is his connection with the audience goes far beyond his production on the field. He’s never been afraid to mince words and is unapologetically authentic. Those characteristics drew Denver sports fans to fall in love with Derek, and we’re thrilled to help Derek build on that relationship everyday as he entertains his ‘Fan Wolfe-pack!’”

“The Drive with Derek Wolfe and DMac” can be heard live weekday afternoons from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Denver’s Sports Station 104.3 The Fan. It can also be streamed live or on-demand at DenverFan.com and The Fan’s mobile app.
