The Stanley Cup gets used in all kinds of fun ways.

This one might top the list.

Colorado Avalanche defenseman Jack Johnson baptized his three children in the Stanley Cup during his day with the best trophy in sports. The Athletic’s Peter Baugh reports the baptisms had been planned before the playoffs, but the dates happened to coincide. Baugh obtained photos of the ceremony via Johnson’s wife, Kelly, and they are adorable.

How cute is that?!

It’s a special day for those who choose to baptize their children, but doing it in the Stanley Cup is probably the best way possible. As Yahoo! points out, this isn’t the first time the Cup has been used for the ceremony. Another former Av, Sylvain Lefebvre, started the tradition after the team won the Cup in 1996. Red Wings and Penguins players have done the same.

You’ll also notice former Packers linebacker A.J. Hawk in the above photos. He is Johnson’s brother-in-law and a Super Bowl champion, so there are some athletic stars in that family.

Where will the Cup head next? We’ll be tracking it as Avs like Nathan MacKinnon, Gabriel Landeskog, Cale Makar and Mikko Rantanen are still waiting for their days with the trophy.
