Charlie Blackmon earned this week’s Smashburger “Smashed It” Play of the Week for his sacrifice fly against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday afternoon in Denver.

The Rockies were trailing the Pirates 3-2 in the fifth inning when Blackmon came to the plate with Elias Diaz at third base. His drive to center tied up the game 3-3, playing good fundamental baseball to get the game back to even. Blackmon also had a triple earlier in the game and scored a run, but unfortunately the bats couldn’t get going for the Rockies and they ended up losing 8-3.
