Watch: Kyle Freeland’s dugout destroying meltdown

The Colorado Rockies are about to take another game from the San Deigo Padres, up late in the contest. It would be Colorado’s third straight win over the Friars.

But today’s effort is not thanks to starter Kyle Freeland who was pulled in the fifth inning. The local lefty tossed 91 pitches, only allowing three hits and two runs through four innings, but in the fifth, things went sideways. First, a leadoff home run, then two Padres hits in a row led Bud Black to pull Freeland.

Freeland was unhappy about the decision or performance, and the Coors Field dugout paid for it.

Both men on base came around to score to tie the game at 5-5. However, Colorado got three back the next inning and leads the contest 8-5.

Freeland’s ERA is now at 4.96 this season, the fourth-worst in baseball. Teammate German Marquez is one of the three doing worse than Freeland, who is 4-7 on the season.

Freeland signed a contract extension worth $64.5 million before the season. Maybe he’ll throw a few dollars at fixing the Rockies dugout.
