May 24, 2022, 6:51 PM

The back-t0-back NBA MVP Nikola Jokic has unsurprisingly been named to the All-NBA First Team, earning all All-NBA honors for the fourth straight season, the league announced on Tuesday.

According to the Nuggets, Jokić is the first player in club history to earn All-NBA team honors in four straight seasons and now has three career first-team selections, passing David Thompson for the most in franchise history.

Earlier this summer, Jokić, was named became the 13th player in NBA history to earn back-to-back MVP’s and the first center to do so since Moses Malone in 1982-83. He was the first player in NBA history to average 25+ points, 13+ rebounds, and 6+ assists for an entire season. Jokic also became the first player in NBA history to record at least 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds and 500 assists in a single season.

Jokic only trailed Giannis Antetokounmpo in All-NBA First Team votes, a unanimous selection. Jokic tied Luka Doncic, as each picked up 88 All-NBA First Team votes and 12 All-NBA Second Team votes. Devin Booker and Jayson Tatum rounded out the All-NBA First Team. Jokic’s main MVP rival, Joel Embiid, was named to the All-NBA Second Team.

Jokić is the seventh Nugget named to an All-NBA team, joining David Thompson, Alex English, Fat Lever, Antonio McDyess, Chauncey Billups and Carmelo Anthony.
