May 16, 2022, 8:22 AM

DENVER – Bonneville Denver announces Andrew Mason is joining 104.3 The Fan (KKFN-FM) as the outlet’s senior Broncos writer for DenverFan.com, succeeding the late John Clayton who passed away in March.

Mason has spent over 23 years as a reporter and analyst covering the NFL, with over 18 of those years covering the Denver Broncos. “Mase” as he’s known to Broncos Country, joins The Fan from DNVR where he provided written and audio analysis of the Broncos since 2019. His previous experience also includes several years as senior digital reporter and managing editor of the Denver Broncos official website.

Furthermore, Mason authored a book on Broncos history, “Tales from the Denver Broncos Sideline” that saw its second edition published in 2017. In addition, Mason has served as a sports-talk radio host in Denver with Mile High Sports Radio and iHeartRadio’s defunct KDSP-AM.

“I’m thrilled to join The Fan team and add what I can to the efforts of building Denver’s premier online destination for Denver fans,” said Mason. “Being tasked with replacing a legend like John Clayton is a responsibility I take very seriously, and I’m honored The Fan has entrusted me with this opportunity.”

“Mase’s work speaks for itself as one of the market’s most respected analysts when it comes to writing about and discussing the Broncos,” said The Fan’s program director, Raj Sharan. “Replacing someone of the legendary stature of John Clayton was not something we took lightly, and we believe Mase is the perfect person to pick up that mantle and bring tremendous credibility and content to our rapidly growing digital platforms.”

Mason joins a team that also includes James Merilatt, Rachel Vigil, Will Petersen, Jake Shapiro and Cecil Lammey, plus multiple writers and podcast hosts who regularly contribute to DenverFan.com.
