Manning meets, advises Hackett on relationship with Wilson

There was a meeting of the minds at Dove Valley; from retirement, Peyton Manning is still trying to help the Denver Broncos

The partnership of Russell Wilson and Nathaniel Hackett is already getting some well-regarded counseling.

Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning met with the new Broncos coaching staff, according to 104.3 The Fan’s Brandon Stokley. Manning spent about three hours with the group.

In the first hour of Stokley’s daily show with Zach Bye he detailed the meeting. The group talked about Hackett’s new quarterback and how Manning’s transition to the Broncos went. He shared some of the things that helped ease his transition and some things he didn’t like in the meeting with Hackett and staff.

Wilson, a nine-time pro bowler, was once a fierce adversary to Manning. The 33-year-old led the Seahawks to a Super Bowl XLVIII win over Manning’s Broncos. While rookie head coach Hackett has just taken over the reins in Dove Valley, coming over from Green Bay.

Manning has been in a situation similar to Wilson, coming over late in his career from Indianapolis. But when experienced NFL head coach Gary Kubiak joined Manning in the Orange and Blue, after his first three years with John Fox, there were some adjustments.

Stokley, who had two stints with Manning, one in Indianapolis and another in Denver, said Manning was displeased when Kubiak made the Colts four-time MVP winner change his candance.

Manning has been involved with the Broncos since retiring after Denver’s Super Bowl 50 win. He’s done videos, showed up to games, and is currently angling for an ownership stake.
