Watch Russell Wilson’s first pitch, a perfect strike at Rockies Opening Day

Apr 8, 2022, 2:53 PM

Rockies Opening Day is always a special occasion, but it was ramped up this year by the presence of Denver Broncos QB Russell Wilson.

Wilson and his wife, superstar Ciara, were at the game as Wilson was selected to throw out the ceremonial first pitch. He, of course, was selected by the Rockies in the fourth-round of the 2010 MLB Draft but went on to become a perennial Pro Bowl QB in the NFL. Wilson also raved about his time with the Rockies at his introductory press conference with the Broncos.

Regardless, Wilson stole the show on Friday afternoon taking the field, on the field, and then with his first pitch. It was a perfect strike to former NL MVP and new Rockie Kris Bryant. Here are some of the highlights of Wilson’s afternoon at the ballpark.

That pitch had some velocity on it! It was a lot better than Peyton Manning’s at the All-Star Game last summer as well.

It’s good to have Russell Wilson and Ciara in Denver, it’s even better to see them embracing the community from the very start.
