The Broncos still needed some safety help and have found it by bringing back one of their own guys.

According to Ryan O’Halloran of The Denver Post, Denver is re-upping safety Kareem Jackson.

Jackson’s been with the Broncos the last three seasons, playing a total 45 games and starting all of them. He had four interceptions, two fumble recoveries and a forced fumble to go along with 248 tackles. He’s a hard hitting safety who’s played alongside Justin Simmons while last year’s fifth-round pick Caden Sterns continues to develop.

Jackson played on a one-year, $5M deal with the Broncos last season after initially signing a three-year, $33M deal with Denver during the 2019 offseason. Mike Klis of 9NEWS reports it will be a similar deal for Jackson in 2022.

It makes sense to bring back Jackson as a veteran presence and leader in the locker room. Jackson, who will turn 34 on April 10, has been in the NFL since 2010 with the Texans.
