Clayton: After bad performance, change is coming for the Broncos

The Broncos offense was a no-show in Sunday’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders.

As a result, the Broncos will be a no-show in the AFC playoffs. Although they are not officially eliminated from the postseason, the chances are slim; virtually non-existent.

It was interesting to hear that Drew Lock played well. How can that be? He only completed 15 of 22 passes for 155 yards. With the two sacks, generated only 142 passing yards. That’s not good. How many games can you win against decent times with so few passing yards.

The big problem was not running the ball more. Javonte Williams had only 12 yards on seven carries. Melvin Gordon had seven carries for minus-four yards. That 14 carries for eight yards with the running backs. How can you win games like that with so few yards on the ground?

How many games are you going to win when you generate only 150 yards of offense with the running game and the passing attack? It was bad.

Vic Fangio came out and said that he wants to be able to coach the fourth and final year of his contract in 2022. That doesn’t look good with the way this season has gone.

Change appears to be coming. How can the Broncos have this much talent on offense and be so bad against the Las Vegas team that hasn’t been good on defense.

Only two games remain. Change is coming.
