The Broncos didn’t fare well in the first week of Pro Bowl voting

The Broncos didn’t get a lot of love in the first week of fan voting for the Pro Bowl.

Only five Broncos ranked in the top 10 in the voting. Two were on special teams. Punter Sam Martin was fourth in the voting. Long-snapper Jacob Bobenmoyer was third in that category.

That means only three position players ranked in the top 10. Justin Simmons was second at free safety. The pleasant surprise is Kareem Jackson ranked as the top free safety. Garett Bolles ranked fourth among the tackles.

The big surprise is that Broncos got nothing at wide receiver so far. Cincinnati Bengals rookie Ja’Marr Chase was No. 2, which is a good choice. He’s having a monster rookie season. Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman was ninth.

The Las Vegas Raiders showed well. They did extremely well on defense. Johnathan Abrams was the eighth-ranked safety. Defensive ends Maxx Crosby and Yannick Ngakoue were fifth and sixth at defense end, respectively. Denzel Perryman was fifth at inside linebacker. Darren Walker was fourth among the tight ends, as the only Raider on offense who made the top 10.

That’s right, David Carr didn’t make the top-10 list. Justin Herbert of the Charges and Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs were the two quarterbacks who made it in the AFC West.

Voting continues until Dec. 16. So there is still time for Broncos Country to be heard.
