Pro Football Focus continues to love Broncos offseason

The analytics site heaped praise upon Denver’s actions in free agency so far, highlighting moves in the secondary

Pro Football Focus keeps heaping the praise upon the Denver Broncos this offseason, most recently finding not a thing wrong with its free agency strategy thus far.

Tracking all 32 NFL teams through the first week of free agency, PFF’s Anthony Treash wrote on Wednesday he found no flaws in how new general manager George Paton has attacked the offseason so far.

While Denver hasn’t made a ton of splashy moves, Treash credited Paton with fixing the club’s biggest problem area — the defensive backfield — especially highlighting the “move of the week” in “swooping in and grabbing Kyle Fuller.”

“Fuller was once a (Vic) Fangio disciple in the Windy City, and he enjoyed the best years of his NFL career in the Denver head coach’s system,” Treash writes.

Aside from adding Fuller to its secondary, the Broncos have brought in cover cornerback Ronald Darby, signed safety Justin Simmons to a long-term deal and re-signed Kareem Jackson at a reduced rate.

The article comes just a day after Pro Football Focus graded the Broncos free agency as “excellent.”
