Possible Broncos draft target to undergo back procedure

One draft prospect often mocked to the Denver Broncos will undergo a back procedure this week.

ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter reports Virginia Tech cornerback will have a microdisectomy Tuesday with noted back specialist Robert Watkins and will not work out at his pro day on Friday, per his agent Drew Rosenhaus.

It is an outpatient procedure and Caleb Farley will be back in Blacksburg and available to meet with teams on Friday. Rosenhaus said Farley will be cleared for full activities before the start of training camp. https://t.co/yniujqnFjl

In ESPN Senior Writer Todd McShay’s most recent mock draft he had the Broncos trading out of their No. 9-overall slot for the San Francisco 49er’s pick at No. 12, where they would select Farley.

McShay’s counterpart at ESPN, Mel Kiper Jr., in his first time ever using trades in a mock draft, also had Denver trading back and picking up Farley, this time with the New England Patriots at No. 15.
