Nuggets set to play Cavs on Friday after Hornets game postponed

The NBA has scheduled the Nuggets to play the Cavaliers in Cleveland on Friday following the postponement of Denver’s original matchup for that day with the Charlotte Hornets.

The league made the announcement Tuesday morning following the postponement of the Nuggets-Hornets game set for Friday.

Charlotte is undergoing contract tracing after playing the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday. Four Spurs players tested positive for COVID-19 and San Antonio has had their next three games postponed, the league announced Tuesday.

Originally the NBA had targeted the Nuggets-Cavaliers matchup for the second half of the season. It’s the Nuggets second postponement of the season after their Feb. 1 matchup against the Detroit Pistons was called off due to COVID-19 protocols.

Denver kicks off an East Coast road swing in Boston against the Celtics on Tuesday night, followed by the Washington Wizards on Wednesday, then Cleveland on Friday and finishing up on Sunday in Atlanta against the Hawks.
