CB Chris Harris Jr asks Broncos for new deal or trade, per report

Apr 23, 2019, 9:26 PM

The contract dispute between the Denver Broncos and cornerback Chris Harris Jr. appears to be coming to a head.

Per ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, Harris has requested the Broncos give him a new deal or trade him.

The report comes just hours after Denver general manager John Elway said that while the two sides can talk after this week’s NFL Draft there’s no guarantee the club will offer the Pro Bowl cornerback an extension.

“I don’t have time right now. I’m busy with the draft. We’ll talk about Chris. He’s under contract, so we’ll talk about that when the draft is over,” Elway said. “When I say this, I said we’re going to talk about it. It doesn’t mean we’re going to do it.”
