Should the Broncos go inside linebacker at No. 10 in the NFL Draft?

With Bradley Roby potentially departing this offseason, the Denver Broncos could be targeting a cornerback with the No. 10 pick in the NFL Draft. But, should the club perhaps go another direction — inside linebacker — with its top pick?

On Monday, “Pritchard and Cecil” co-host Cecil Lammey said that while many mocks have LSU cornerback Greedy Williams going to the Broncos, the team might be leaning toward inside linebackers like Devin White (LSU) or Devin Bush (Michigan) because of the lack of depth at the position in this year’s class.

“There are many more cornerbacks out there, if you want to wait until the second, third, and maybe even into the fourth round to find that quality talent that could step in and start for the Denver Broncos. At inside linebacker, there’s only one or two,” Lammey said. “So, in my opinion, the Broncos might be leaning that way, especially if they can’t get a free agent like C.J. Mosley because the Ravens, now with some extra salary cap space from getting rid of Joe Flacco, might go ahead and franchise tag him.”

“Stokley and Zach” co-host Brandon Stokley championed White as a potential pick for Denver, saying he would be a nice “centerpiece” for the Broncos defense, especially under defensive-minded head coach Vic Fangio.

“Those guys are so hard to find. And if you have a chance to get him, get one of them, you can’t pass,” Stokley said. “So, I think I would lean toward more of Devin White, even though we need so much help on the offensive line.”

Denver 7 Insider Troy Renck, filling in on “The Drive” on Monday, said he’d be fine with Williams, but he too could see the Broncos going after White.

“I like Devin White a little better just because of Devin White’s production in college. I mean, he is just an absolute producer,” Renck said. “He’s just a different modern linebacker. Sideline-to-sideline. Game-changing. (He’s just a) sideline-to-sideline linebacker who can just cause havoc.”
