The guys discuss moving on from Derek Wolfe & not playing Von Miller in the final game of the season. Cecil wants to feature the young players like Jeff Holland & Isaac Yiadom more, and John has his eye on a better draft position. Haskins & Lock are featured at QB, and Cecil says this is a quarterback desperate league.
In the Big 3, Cecil & John talk about the best fit for Lincoln Riley, and why DeSean Jackson wants out of Tampa Bay. John wonders if Jackson could work in Denver, and the guys talk about Nick Saban & an expanded college football playoff system.
John wonders if Matt Stafford could be out in Detroit, and Cecil says everyone has a price tag. Also, Cecil says there is no reason to trade for Joe Flacco when the Broncos are building for a run in 2020.
In Football @ 4, John asks Cecil about Justin Herbert, and Cecil says all of Herbert’s flaws can’t be fixed in a year & he could have hurt his draft stock. The guys agree trading Von Miller would be ridiculous, and a third-tier coach like Jim Caldwell is likely, not Eric Bieniemy. Also, why the Broncos won’t bend their system to fit Drew Lock’s style.
Cecil says this is when bad drafts come back to bite you when injuries take ahold of your roster & you have no depth.
John Davis wants to see what the 49ers would look like without Kyle Shanahan, and Cecil talks about Dak Prescott’s missed flight to Denver. John & Cecil highlight the importance of fit, and why things didn’t work out with Blake Bortles.
The guys talk about bringing in Matthew Stafford as the QB of the Denver Broncos, and Cecil says it’s an interesting thought & prediction. John asks Cecil if the NY Giants will draft a QB to replace Eli Manning.
The boys talk about Dwayne Haskins & Drew Lock as Top-20 picks in the upcoming draft, and Cecil says neither one rates out as high as Lamar Jackson. Also, Cecil says he wants Broncos scouts everywhere there is a quarterback, including Duke.
The guys touch on the Nuggets & the Avs, after Denver dropped a tough one in San Antonio last night.
