The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE FROM ARIZONA!!! Cecil Lammey joins the show to say take the ball out of Case Keenum’s hands & let the run game take control.
Al & DMac figure out if it’s a lack of talent, injuries or a coaching problem in Denver. Al says it’s all about putting your players in position to make plays, and DMac says it feels like Denver is swimming against the tide & wonders why the Broncos are so special. Also, we hear a quote from Joe Ellis saying Denver is taking it one game at a time, and Al says there are no die-hard fans in Arizona.
In the Big 3, DMac asks Al about his lack of optimism when it comes to Michael Malone after Malone lands a two-year extension, and Big Al agrees with Bill Belichick about not putting anyone in Lawrence Taylor’s class. Also, DMac is ready to move on from Adam Jones & move forward with Brendan Langley.
The guys talk about the Arizona Cardinals’ stadium, and DMac says they have a great facility. Big Al says the Cardinals will never have the passionate fan-base the Broncos do, and DMac expects a fired up collegiate atmosphere. Also, DMac asks Al what to expect from each team’s running game.
Big Al says David Johnson is the real deal at running back, and the Cardinals have a lot of players that used to be stars. Also, Big Al fears the playmaking ability of Budda Baker on defense.
Cecil Lammey joins the show to say take the ball out of Case Keenum’s hands & let the run game take control. Cecil is afraid of Chandler Jones taking out his frustrations with Von Miller’s comments out on Case Keenum, and DMac tells Cecil the Cardinals will be daring the Broncos to throw it up in one-on-one matchups. DMac asks Al what Elway will do if Josh Rosen lights the Broncos up, and Al points out that Rosen was ‘his guy’ in the draft.
Al & DMac discuss the Broncos drafting Bradley Chubb instead of Josh Rosen or Josh Allen, and Dmac is still sour about it.
The guys talk about major changes going on with the Broncos organization, and Al expects to see growth in the franchise next year. Also, Al tells DMac Elway doesn’t want to go through growing pains with a young QB & DMac says that’s why there is the ‘Glennon-Trubisky doctrine.’
DMac plays the King Soopers Fan Football Pick ‘Em Shame Game, and we hear audio from Draft Night ’18 when DMac didn’t want to draft any position but quarterback. Also, DMac explains how much the Broncos worth now that Pat Bowlen & John Elway have changed things around in Denver.
Al & DMac talk about Joe Ellis & the Broncos, and DMac says Ellis must be willing to move on & Elway needs to start looking into replacing Matt Russell.
