The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE IN STUDIO!!! Cecil Lammey joins the show to talk about his fantasy show at Famous Daves. Cecil says it finally feels like the Broncos will start running the ball in an effort to keep Jared Goff off the field, and he’s expecting some garbage time for Case Keenum.
The Yankees lose, and DMac can’t get enough of it. Big Al says NFL Primetime made ESPN great. The guys agree that players who are on TV make the HOF more easily, and that mig markets land primetime games.
In the Big 3, DMac gets Al’s reaction to Bradley Roby being allowed to play this weekend by Vance Joseph, and Big Al says it’s a new age of football when players don’t have to practice. Also, Al points out Jared Goff got some creative playcalling & it saved his job, and the same could have happened for Paxton here in Denver.
DMac asks Big Al about Case Keenum’s small hands in the snow, and Big Al thinks most of Keenum’s success came from playing in a dome. Also, Big Al continues to compare Jared Goff & Paxton Lynch.
In Football @ 4, we hear from Bradley Roby about getting sick after the NY Jets game, and Roby says the players reached out to him after hearing that he was a no-show for practice the next day. Also, Big Al can’t recall ever having to fire himself like John Elway & Joe Ellis need to according to DMac.
We hear from John Elway, and Cecil Lammey joins the show to talk about his fantasy show at Famous Daves. Cecil says it finally feels like the Broncos will start running the ball in an effort to keep Jared Goff off the field, and he’s expecting some garbage time for Case Keenum. Also, DMac makes fun of Cecil for playing the King Soopers Fan Football Pick ‘Em Shame Game. Listen to the interview HERE!!!
The debate begins about what is more wet, rain or snow, and Al wants to know if there’s a way to increase your own hand size. The guys measure their hands, and Al defends his ‘wet water’ theory.
The guys talk about targeting college coaches to replace VJ, and DMac says the only reason to fire your coach at this stage is if you have a replacement ready to go that can win now. Also, DMac finds out from Al if the Broncos have the personnel that can win with a different coach than VJ.
DMac says it would have to be VJ that goes, and Big Al says it’s hard for Von Miller to get sacks when the other team is in obvious running or passing situations. Al wants the Broncos to make the transition to a 4-3 defense, and get Bradley Chubb out of coverage. Also, the guys think about adding Andrew Luck or Derek Carr as the QB1 in Denver, and DMac keeps an eye on Stanford’s David Shaw.
The guys agree there’s no point to making a coaching change now, and Al talks about the culture of ‘playing through it’ in the NFL. DMac agrees with Al that Bill Musgrave should have taken some time off, and DMac thinks it’s going to take a miracle to beat the LA Rams.
Al & DMac talk about trading Jimmy Butler, and DMac isn’t sure what team would want Butler at this point.
