It doesn’t matter if the Broncos insert Kelly at QB, Pritchard says

With Denver losing its last three games following a 2-0 start to the season, some in Broncos Country have called for the team to replace quarterback Case Keenum with second-year backup Chad Kelly.
On Monday, “Pritchard and Cecil” co-host Mike Pritchard said the Broncos will likely lose their next three games regardless of who’s at quarterback, so it’s fine by him if Denver turns to Kelly.
“They’re not going to win the next three games. So, if you want to play Chad Kelly, go for it. Why not?” Pritchard said. “It’s not going to hurt anything, It’s not going to help anything. But it’s certainly not going to hurt anything.”
Through five games, Keenum, the Broncos’ big offseason acquisition, ranked among the middle to low end of NFL quarterbacks in most passing stats, including 16th in yards (1,365), 22nd in completion percentage (63.5 percent), 26th in touchdown passes (5), 26th in interception percentage (3.6), and 30th in quarterback rating (33.2).
Kelly, during the preseason, went 40-of-60 for a 66.7 percent completion rate, 466 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions. His passer rating (92.8) ranked among the top third of quarterbacks as well.
In its next three games, Denver faces off against two undefeated teams (the Los Angeles Rams and Kansas City Chiefs) and the Arizona Cardinals, who are 1-4 and helmed by rookie quarterback Josh Rosen.
