Domata Peko experience with Ravens makes him Broncos ‘secret weapon’

After Sunday afternoon, Denver Broncos defensive tackle Domata Peko will have played no other team more times than the Baltimore Ravens.

Twice a year for 11 seasons — 22 games total — Peko clashed with the AFC North foe Baltimore as a member of the Cincinnati Bengals, gobbling up 30 tackles against the Ravens and earning 13 wins.

“Baltimore is a tough place to play. I’ve played there 11 years in a row in the AFC North and it’s a tough division,” Peko said on Monday.

And with his experience against the Ravens, “Pritchard and Cecil” co-host Mike Pritchard believes he can be the “secret weapon” for the Broncos on the road Sunday.

“He knows this team. He’s faced the Baltimore Ravens twice a year for years. … He’s butted heads against that offensive line, that philosophy for a while now. He knows what to expect,” Pritchard said on Thursday. “I think, from a secret weapon standpoint.

“Certainly being able to relay information to his teammates, certainly helping everybody understand what to expect once they play in that stadium, that’s a big experience boost for the Denver Broncos.”

Peko showed his experience with Baltimore this week, saying it’s imperative for the Broncos to come out and get on the Ravens early because the “crowd is going to be loud as heck.”

“Get after them early, show them that you mean business, get that run stopped and you definitely have to get pressure on (Joe) Flacco because he can sit back there and he can throw the deep ball like the best of them,” Peko said. “We’ve got to make sure we get pressure on Flacco. You definitely have to start fast on those guys.”
