The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE IN STUDIO! Al tries to explain to DMac why an NFL free agent would be ‘looking for realness.’ The guys talk about the update to the NFL’s new ‘helmet rule’ and what the rule is truly intended to do.

Al & DMac talk about Hard Knocks from last night, and the expectations that come along with surgery. DMac goes over the Denver Broncos that are already listed out for Friday’s game against the Redskins. We hear from VJ after Broncos practice, and Al wonders if a blockbuster deal should be made for Khalil Mack. Big Al asks DMac if depression & mental health are a big deal in the NFL & NBA, and if the Carlos Henderson story is still noteworthy. DMac talks about Rockies situational hitting in their loss to the Padres, and what Bud Black did by bunting with DJ LeMahieu & sacrificing Nolan Arenado’s at-bat.

Al wants to know if Troy Fumagalli is going to land on injured reserve, and DMac names Anthony Miller as a fantasy deep cut. DMac goes over the Broncos that are listed as OUT and Big Al goes over Broncos that are on the bubble. Also, how the Broncos are planning to move on from Menelik Watson. Big Al wants to know what to do about the dominant QBs in our division, and DMac notes that Paxton’s confidence is nothing compared to Keenum’s. Also, Big Al explains why Philip Rivers is still the King of the AFC West. DMac says look for Matt Holliday to be joining the Rockies soon, and plays some audio of Dez Bryant’s visit to the Cleveland Browns facility. Al & DMac discuss why Chad Kelly has the advantage over khaki pants Paxton, and DMac wonders how many factors would have to be ignored for the Broncos to start Chad Kelly over Case Keenum. Big Al knows Courtland Sutton & DaeSean Hamilton will be starters in Denver one day, and notes Chad Kelly’s college numbers. Also, Big Al says he does not expect to see Chad Kelly see the field unless Case Keenum is injured, and Denver has too much money tied up in Paxton Lynch. The guys remember the first Broncos game they went to, and Al remembers his first trip to play an NFL game. Al says if the Broncos want to win a Super Bowl, they should think about winning these next two preseason games, and DMac defends the use of virtual reality to help players & coaches prepare for NFL games. The boys take some calls on what QBs in the league ‘want it’ more badly than Paxton. Big Al points out the difference in working hard, playing hard and thinking that you’re working hard.
